After the first One UI 5.0 beta update earlier this month, Samsung rolled out the One UI 5.0 Beta 2 for Galaxy S22 customers in eligible countries a couple of days ago. One UI 5.0 Beta update brings a lot of changes and improvements to the Galaxy devices, however, it’s reportedly restricting Galaxy Watch users to update their smartwatches.
If you are running a One UI 5.0 beta on your Galaxy S22, you can check the Samsung Members app that shows some known issues. Among them, one is related to denying Galaxy users update their Galaxy smartwatches. However, the company has also mentioned a temporary fix (Via SammyFans).

According to the official information, One UI 5.0 Beta is only restricting Galaxy Watch users to update the software while keeping the device connected to mobile data. And, when you connect your phone to the Wi-Fi network, you can successfully update your wearable to the latest version.
The Samsung Members app also mentions that this issue is known and has been already examined by the developer team. It’s under fixed and might be resolved in the upcoming beta update. Beta testers are recommended not to register reports for this error.
Aside from this issue, Samsung has also mentioned a couple of known issues on the official One UI 5.0 Beta changelog. These are as follows:
- If you don’t update the Samsung Wallet app, it can be automatically removed in the new OS version. Then, you need to re-install the Samsung Wallet app manually.
- There may be an error in the Samsung Wallet Digital Key (Car UWB Key), operation. If an error occurs, please delete the digital key and re-register it.
It’s worth mentioning that the beta version is meant to check the stability of the One UI 5.0 therefore the issues will commonly appear. What’s important is that Samsung is fixing these issues. With the One UI 5.0 Beta 2, the company has fixed a bunch of issues that users have reported in Beta 1. These send bets 2 errors will also be resolved shortly.
