Google opens hi-tech school at Israel’s Reichman University, offers programming courses

According to the latest report, Israel’s Reichman University said on Monday that the school has been established by Google to train high-tech talents.

It is reported that the high-tech academy will offer a series of courses in computer programming, sales, and data analysis. The university said the high-tech school will fund students from underdeveloped communities “including women, Arabs, Ethiopian community members and from geo-socially marginalized and disadvantaged socioeconomic groups”.

Google school IsraelGoogle Israel CEO Barak Regev said: “We believe that a variety of voices and perspectives will enrich Israel’s high-tech industry and its development.” In addition, Google will also provide scholarships for students.

It is reported that Israel’s high-tech industry is currently booming, but there is a severe shortage of skilled workers. Courses are being rolled out over the next few weeks and students completing courses at the school will earn credit towards a degree, the university said.
