The official version of iOS 16.1 has been released to the public, supporting ” Live Activity” in third-party applications. However, the integration of “Live Activity” for specific sports through Apple’s built-in Apple TV app appears to have been delayed until iOS 16.2.

The “Live Activity” integration in the Apple TV app was disabled in the middle of the iOS 16.1 Beta but has been re-enabled in the iOS 16.2 Beta for developers this week.
Moreover, this feature allows iPhone users to view real-time sports scores on the lock screen, and is adapted to the iPhone 14 Pro / Max Dynamic Island “Live Activity”.
For example, during a Premier League game, the iPhone 14 Pro Dynamic Island displays a live-updated scoreboard with the number of goals scored by each club.
When you press and hold, Dynamic Island will expand, showing the time and status of the game. Sports live scores are displayed on the lock screen when the iPhone 14 Pro is locked and on all other iPhone models.
To use this Beta feature of the iOS 16.2 Beta, open the Apple TV app and tap the “Follow” button for a supported contest. Apple says the feature is available for MLB games in the U.S., Canada, Australia, U.K., Brazil, Mexico, Japan, and South Korea, as well as NBA and Premier League games in the U.S. and Canada.
The feature may expand to other sports leagues in the future. At the same time, some sports apps provide live events on the iOS 16.1 lock screen and Smart Island, such as Sports Alerts.
