Google Maps is an application that is been used widely to see directions and with every short gap, Google keeps on updating it with some new features and functionalities. Now, Google Maps is planning to bring a new Glanceable Directions feature, for both iOS and Android lock screens.

As per recent information, Google is expanding the availability of AR features in Maps, and adding a new Glanceable Directions feature to the Android and iOS lock screens. This Glanceable directions capability brings updated ETAs and where to turn directly to your lock screen.

This new capability will work as a regular system notification on Android devices, while the iPhone app will support the Live Activities feature which comes with iOS 16.1. With this upcoming feature, the Google Maps app will automatically update your trip once you take a different path.

However, the feature is currently under process, and it may release for the users in the upcoming two months. Apart from this new Glanceable Directions feature, the already existing features like Search with Live View, Indoor live view, and Immersive view are also expanding in more countries.

On the other side, Google Maps for Android Automotive is getting a fast 150 kilowatts or higher EV charging filter, while search results will surface on-site chargers, like those at supermarkets. Whereas, the Navigation will now add charging stops for shorter tips soon.
