Google is making amendments to its applications and has redesigned the Drive app for tablets with new navigation rail and dynamic features. In case you are using the Android tab for most of your work, then this revamp will be beneficial for you.

Accordingly, the tech maker has recently announced a bunch of add-ons to the Google Drive app for tablets and redesigned the navigation bar. To be specific, the company has ditched the bottom navigation style and instead integrated a side-mounted rail.

For your information, the navigation rail works best on a larger screen and can further switch to a navigation bar for smaller displays. Besides, it provides access to primary destinations in apps when using tablet and desktop screens.

Aside from the general tabs such as Home, Starred, Shared, and Files, the navigation rail also comprise a ‘+’ icon for adding new files and folders. On the flip side, users will also notice expand/ collapse button for the drawer.

Making the screen look less occupied, Google has decreased the length of the top search bar and shifted the help, settings, as well as profile button to the top-right corner. In addition, the Suggested and Notifications tabs won’t grab much space as before.
