Samsung is rolling out a new software update for the Galaxy A52 5G smartphone users in the US, which installs the latest May 2023 Android security patch. Therefore, the firmware was earlier available in other markets including Europe and the company will not let other region consumers wait for too long.
May 2023 update is a regular monthly firmware that aims to enhance the safety grades of your Galaxy phone and make it more secure and reliable compared to before. The latest patch also helps to fix some bugs and glitches that may have been discovered in the system, reducing the risk of system crashes and data loss.
It further offers improved protection against malicious threats, viruses, and other safety-related issues. Moving on, the May 2023 security bulletin also mentions fixes for over 70 exposures including 4 critical, 48 high, and 3 moderate levels of CVEs from Google and 21 SVEs from Samsung software.
Furthermore, the update is rolling out for both carrier-locked and unlocked models in the US, with One UI build version A526USQS8EWE2 and A526U1UES8EWD3 on Metro PCS, Sprint, and T-Mobile networks. Therefore, if you want to install the firmware, then simply visit Settings > Software Update > Download & Install.
But before installing the patch, it’s recommended to keep a backup of all your important data and you will not be able to use your phone while the installation process. Foremostly, use an unmetered connection for uninterrupted downloading and maintain sufficient storage.
