Apple has already unveiled the iconic software upgrade in the form of watchOS 10, but it looks like the upcoming days will add more new changes to this development. In a recent press conference, the tech giant put forth some more interesting plans for the respective watch upgrade.
To begin with, the Vice Presidents of Apple – Kevin Lynch and Deidre Caldbeck said that the watch face is the home screen of the device and it should work reliably and consistently. Perhaps, we may find third-party watch faces in Apple Watch in the time ahead.
However, Caldbeck added that users don’t have to worry about the watch’s face performance, as the company will take care of it. Although, if third-party faces were available, Apple argues it wouldn’t be able to ensure that the watch faces keep working.
This is so because a small change could affect the entire operating system, like this year’s watchOS 10 redesign that includes a new swipe-up gesture to reveal a tray of user-selectable widgets.
Further, the executives mention that Apple already gives users a lot of flexibility to customize their watch faces and enhance them with complications from third-party apps.
It is worth noting that Apple watchOS 10 is still in the beta phase, though we could encounter new changes in the stable release of the version. Till then, you can read the full interview HERE.
