Play Store is safer, when it comes to sideloading risks: Google

Sideloading is another vast topic that has covered the online floor after the Threads app. Several lawsuits including the EU are forcing Apple and Google to let users install apps via third-party app stores. But recently, Google said that when it comes to sideloading risks, Play Store is safer than all.

According to the latest inputs, the Head of Google Play Asia Pacific – Kiran Mani said at an event that “Users can choose other stores, but Google Play Store is quite safer when it comes to sideloading risks”.

Ahead he mentioned that sideloading can be risky and how Play Store protects your data from such risks and dangers. Notably, Google adopts a three-step strategy including standard security procedures, executions, and alerts for suspicious or malware apps.

Mani further quoted that regardless of the outcome of governments’ discussions on mandatory sideloading, all three processes will continue.
