Google Docs can now add line numbers to your documents

Google is bringing a handful of changes to the Docs application and the latest one lets you add line numbers to your document. The company has already made the non-printing characters available to the app and is now adding some more efficient functionalities to it.

Speaking of which, the line numbers feature in Docs will estimate a document and automatically align numbers to each line. The same result shown on the screen will appear when printed out. One can use the feature for a particular section, page, or even the entire document.

Users working on the Google Docs web version can enable the new change via Tools > Line numbers > Show line numbers. Here you can pick the mode and choose the respective portion of the document where you want to apply for these numbers.

Alongside this, Google is adding alt text to images in Docs, Sheets, Slides, and Drawings. These features are gradually rolling out and will be available to all WorkSpace users in the coming days.
