Apple readying biggest chip upgrade, could launch in 2026: Tipster

Apple has just wrapped the iPhone 15 series launch event and it seems as if the company already started working on some other major products. As per the well-known tech analyst Ming-Chi Kuo, Apple is preparing the biggest chip upgrade, which will launch in 2026.

Recently, Kuo shared a new post on a Chinese social platform, explaining that Apple is planning to develop a 2nm chip which would be the biggest upgrade in terms of processors, and will launch on the stage as early as 2026.

iPhone 15 Pro models landed on the surface with the A17 Pro chipset that uproots over the 3nm process technology. As of now, the details hint that the tech giant is likely to begin using TSMC’s 2nm chip fabrication tech to produce iPhone processors.

Just like other chips, the 3nm process will continue to exist for three years with A17 Pro, A18, and A19 from 2023 to 2025. Meanwhile, the launch of a 2nm chipset will once again add a significant boost to the overall performance, by reducing the smallest possible dimension used in chip manufacturing and increasing transistor density.
