Google Search is getting an immersive design and a useful gesture in the latest Android 14 QPR1 beta firmware. Eventually, the new addition to the search application will boost the user experience and enable users to make the most out of the app.
Starting with the Android 14 QPR1 beta version, Google Search flaunts a new Gesture Navigation page in the Settings app with a ‘Hold handle to Search’ feature.
Notably, the term handle points out a thin line at the bottom of the screen which will act as an initial point for swiping up to go home or side-to-side for switching apps.
Meanwhile, the description of the respective feature reflects that it will help in searching for what’s currently visible on the screen. It could also be a quick action to send an image/screenshot to Google Lens.
This capability is still in development, but the tech giant has imposed the new Google Search design and the useful gesture in the Android 14 QPR1 beta and we could expect it with the stable software release as well.
