Elon Musk‘s X is going through some tough times as it has been sued by a marketing agency for trademark infringement. Yes, a corporation named X Social Media, which came into existence in 2016 filed a lawsuit over the letter “X”.
According to the information, the respective company alleged that the recent rebranding of Twitter to X has significantly affected its business and market reputation. Meanwhile, Elon Musk’s X has benefitted from this trademark infringement.
The firm further adds that Elon has intentionally performed this activity even after knowing that such a name already exists in the market. Thus, X Social Media marks X (Twitter) under four different violations:
- Registered Trademark and Service Mark Infringement
- Florida Common Law Unfair Competition
- Florida Deceptive and Unfair Trade Practices Act
- Common Law Trademark and Service Mark Infringement
