Gmail on Web gets emoji picker
Starting today, you can access a more complete emoji selection and set emoji skin tone and gender preferences with the modernized emoji picker in the web version of Gmail. The feature will be fully available over the coming weeks for “all Google Workspace customers and users with personal Google Accounts.”
This feature is ON by default and cannot be disabled by the user. To select your emoji preference, click the emoji icon in the bottom toolbar of your email draft > select the arrow in the bottom right corner of an emoji > choose your skin tone or gender preference for that specific emoji.

Google Search ‘About this image’ option
You can now get more information about the image that you search on Google with ‘About this image’ tool. You’ll find this in the three-dot overflow menu of the image.
In addition, “About this image” will also show the added metadata. This can include if it was generated or enhanced by AI, with pictures created by Google AI featuring this.
Android Auto to use phone Wallpaper
According to a new report, Android Auto could soon support your phone’s wallpaper on the car display. As spotted by 9to5google (during APK decompilation), there’s a new setting explained in the Android Auto code “Use phone’s wallpaper in Android Auto”.
After the successful test, the option should appear in Android Auto’s settings menu.
YouTube TV 5.1 surround sound support
YouTube TV is now rolling out 5.1 surround sound support to the Disney-owned ESPN networks. Android/Google TV, Apple TV, and other platforms have already received the support last year.
According to official confirmation, the 5.1 is enabled on “all YouTube TV 5.1 supported devices.” YouTube explains that its TV apps support 5.1 on “Chromecast, Apple TV, Roku and most Fire TV devices,” as well as smart TVs with model year 2021 or newer. The feature is also available on Xbox consoles and the PlayStation 5.
