Following the launch of the Galaxy S24 Series, Samsung has now shifted its focus toward the launch of its next high-end devices which could be the sixth-generation foldable devices. Besides this, Samsung is also rumored to launch an affordable foldable model in which the firm could use Inkjet Printing tech.
As per details, Samsung Electronics is considering using a different method possibly inkjet printing to make the bezels of its next foldable OLED panels launching this year. This move to change tech is aimed at saving cost, as the Korean tech firm reportedly has plans to launch an affordable foldable phone in 2024.
As of now, Samsung uses the Micro Dry Process Decoration (MDD) for its foldable phone screens. In this method, frames were made using films cut from a roll, with the necessary ink already in the film. However, this approach sparked debates due to cost implications. Thus, Samsung is now shifting to Inkjet printing technology.

Notably, the change of technology in OLED panel bezels is expected to allow the extraction of more frames from the original film, helping Samsung cut costs and potentially reduce the prices of its foldable smartphones.
Consequently, the source has not yet clarified whether this tech will be used in the affordable model of foldable phones or in the Galaxy Z Fold 6 launching later this year.
