Last week, Samsung unveiled Galaxy Z Fold 6 and Galaxy Z Flip 6 foldables with several prominent features and capabilities. Just after their launch, the leaks and rumors about the foldable’s successor have started hovering on the web.
A recent report suggests that, Samsung is reportedly planning to launch the Galaxy Z Fold 7 as an ultra-slim foldable phone. This ultra-slim design would make the Galaxy Z Fold 7 more appealing to consumers who value portability and style.
TM Roh, president and head of Samsung’s MX division instructed engineers to develop an extra thin foldable smartphone. As he wants the next Galaxy foldable phones to be more and more slim as compared to their predecessors.

The report says, the thickness of the next Galaxy foldable could be similar to the 7mm thickness of the Galaxy S24 when folded. Not only the thickness, the makers are also working on reducing the weight of foldables below 239 grams.
For comparison, the Galaxy Z Fold 6 is 12.1 millimeters thick and weighs 239 grams. Notably, this will be a significant design change, making the foldable device even more portable and sleek.
Besides the Galaxy Z Fold 7, Samsung is also gearing up to launch Galaxy Z Fold 6 Slim. This foldable phone is expected to be unveiled later this year. While we might see the unveiling of Galaxy Z Fold 7 alongside Flip 7 in 2025.
