Google Gemini gets smarter, Google Calendar gets taskier

Gemini Gets a Boost with Spotify Extension

Google’s AI assistant, Gemini, is getting smarter with the addition of new extensions. One of the latest additions is a Spotify extension, which allows users to control their Spotify music and podcasts using voice commands.

With this extension, you can ask Gemini to play specific songs, albums, or playlists, or even search for music based on lyrics. It’s a convenient way to control your music without having to open the Spotify app.

Google Calendar Integrates Google Tasks

Google Calendar has also received a significant update, integrating Google Tasks directly into the app. This integration makes it easier to manage your tasks and deadlines alongside your calendar events.

You can now access your tasks directly from the Calendar app, creating, editing, and checking them off without switching between apps. This seamless integration streamlines your workflow and helps you stay organized.

While the integration is a welcome addition, it’s important to note that some features, such as the “List” widget, are still exclusive to the standalone Google Tasks app. However, the unified experience offered by the integration is a significant improvement.
