According to the Chinese regulatory filing, Apple’s iPhone 12 Pro Max has a less capacious battery than last year’s iPhone 11 Pro Max.
A filing on the TENAA (Telecommunication Equipment Certification Center) reveals the iPhone 12 Pro Max has a battery capacity of 3,687 mAh. While iPhone 11 Pro Max sported a bigger 3,969 mAh battery.

Even after the smaller battery than the iPhone 11 Pro Max, Apple says the iPhone 12 Pro Max performs similarly to last year’s iPhone. Apple claims that both the iPhone can give up to 20 hours of video playback.
Recently, regulatory filings from Brazil’s ANATEL confirmed the battery capacity of the iPhone 12 Mini and iPhone 12 Pro — a 2,227 mAh and 2,815 mAh respectively.
The latest iPhone 12 comes with 5G support and many new features including the new camera enhancements like 10-bit HDR and Dolby Vision HDR video recording.
Apple also brings a new battery-saving feature “Smart Data Mode”, which automatically switches iPhone 12 devices between 4G LTE and 5G.
