A recent video on Youtube channel MobileReviewsEH tested glass durability on iPhone 12 and iPhone 11 using a force meter to test its glass.
In the test using a force meter that measures in newtons, The iPhone 11 was able to take 352 newtons force, while the iPhone 12 was able to bear 442 newtons of force. The ceramic shield protection of the iPhone 12 was far better than the iPhone 11.
In the scratch test the iPhone 12 was able to resist scratching from keys, coins, rocks, and a box cutter with no scratches on the display. The back glass of both the iPhones were found equally durable and the edges of the iPhone 12 were found more durable than its back glass.
As the iPhone 12 models are launched and are reaching more customers, we’ll be able to see more durability videos in the coming days from where we can get an idea about the strength of the ceramic shield as compared to previous iPhones.
