Huawei P40 series receiving October 2020 security update in Europe

Huawei is expanding the October 2020 security update for the Huawei P40 series users in Europe. This security update mainly fixes exploits and issues including 21 high-level and 1 medium level CVE’s.

Last week, Huawei has released the EMUI 11 public beta for the Huawei P40 series in China. This beta software update brings new improvements for video editing, Bluetooth experience, and optimizes the system stability in some scenarios, as well as installs the October 2020 security patch.

  • It may take some time to reach your device
  • Maintain enough storage and battery
  • If possible, connect to WiFi

UPDATE INSTRUCTIONS:

Through Setting:

  1. Open Settings on your device
  2. Click on system & updates
  3. Click on the software update
  4. Check for updates
  5. Click on the download button
  6. Install updates
  7. After completion of the installation, the reboot option appears on the screen
  8. Reboot the device

Through Support app:

  1. Open the Support app on your device
  2. If not installed, download it from the play store
  3.  Open service tab
  4. Tap on update
  5. Check for updates
  6. Click on the download button
  7. Install updates
  8. After completion of the installation, the reboot option appears on the screen
  9. Reboot the device
