Keeping business aside, Samsung also works for various social causes all over the world. A couple of days ago the state of Texas in the United States met a winter storm causing damages not only for the residents but also for businesses.
Looking at the damages the South Korean tech firm has donated a sum of $1 million to the community partners in the state. The aim of the company was to get the lives of the people back on track and heal the condition as much as possible.
The company used to provide food, water, health services, and shelters in the US state of Texas and Austin. In that area, weather caused big damages and also electricity failure. Samsung runs a chip plant in Austin and Texas, but due to a power cut production was resumed for two weeks.

Since 1998, this is the first time that Samsung’s Austin factory has been closed for a couple of weeks. The company also decided to build a new chip plant in the region. For the new plant set up the company wants to expand the sites in Arizona and New York. The company has more than 6,000 employees and has invested more than $17 billion in Texas over recent years.
“We understand how the winter storm severely impacted our lives and our businesses and we want to help lift up those individuals and families who are in need,” said Dr. Sang Sup Jeong, President, Samsung Austin Semiconductor. “We are all in this together. As we celebrate 25 years in Austin, we want to demonstrate our appreciation and support of this community with this gift as we all recover together.”
