Samsung is doing quite impressive progress in terms of smartphone production as the company ranked second in the fourth quarter of 2020 after Apple. It is estimated that after the first quarter of this year, the South Korean tech giant is likely to grab the number one position leaving Apple behind.
According to market research firm TrendForce, the company will capture the top spot of Apple. The report suggests that Samsung has manufactured and sold 62-67 million smartphones in Q4 2020. While in Q1 2021, quarterly smartphone production volume is expected to reach around 62 million units.
This indicates that Samsung maintains its production volume capacity the same as previous Q4 2020. The same research market firm also says that Apple’s production volume will be lower in Q1 2021 compared to the previous quarter, it might only produce a total of 54 million iPhones in Q1 2021. The Cupertino giant may fall short by 8 million phones in comparison with Samsung.
