MediaTek released its March and first-quarter financial reports for March 2021 this week. Consolidated revenue in March was NT$40.147 billion, a monthly increase of 23.32%, a rise of 75.89% compared to the same period last year, and an increase of 23.33% compared to February this year.
Additionally, MediaTek’s consolidated revenue for January-March 2021 was NT$108.033 billion (approximately RMB 24.804 billion), a quarterly increase of 12.06% and an annual increase of 77.5%.
Due to the overall growth of major product lines such as mobile phone chips, Internet of Things and TV chips, MediaTek’s March and first-quarter revenue exceeded the 40 billion and 100 billion yuan mark respectively.
Omdia data shows that MediaTek’s smartphone chip market share in 2020 will be 27%, slightly higher than Qualcomm’s 25%. It is stated that MediaTek has supplied 351.8 million processors to major smartphone makers in 2020,.
