SpaceX plans to send humans on moon till 2024: Musk

NASA and SpaceX have reached an agreement that SpaceX’s “Starship” rocket will send humans back to the moon in 2024. NASA is currently working hard to operate the Artemis program. The goal is to return humans to the moon by the end of the 2020s and establish a long-term and sustainable human presence on and around the moon.

In 2019, the previous US government instructed NASA to achieve the first manned Artemis landing by 2024. But some people worry that under the current US government, this timetable may not be realized.

But Musk believes that SpaceX’s “interplanetary spacecraft” deep space transportation system can indeed achieve this goal, and NASA recently selected this system as Artemis’ manned lunar lander.

Musk said at a press conference following SpaceX’s successful launch of the Crew-2 mission last Friday morning that he thinks 2024 seems very likely. It also pointed out that SpaceX’s goal is to prepare earlier. He also joked that the company at least needs to “stop making craters,” which alluded to the serial explosion of the interstellar rocket during the recent test.

It is reported that SpaceX is preparing for another attempt at high altitude test flight of the interstellar spacecraft. The latest prototype was named SN15 (“Serial Number 15”), and a series of pre-flight inspections were carried out in South Texas.
