Mozilla released Firefox 88 earlier this month with new features and changes. The update includes support for smooth pinch-zoom using the touchpad on Linux machines, print updates, and support for JavaScript embedded in PDF files.
Additionally, Firefox dropped FTP support with the update. Now, Mozilla has started releasing Firefox 89 for Android on the beta channel and it brings some interesting changes.

According to the XDA report, Firefox 89 Beta for Android adds a new section to the Tab Switcher that allows you to quickly access synced tabs on devices. Although the synced tab feature is not new, it is hidden behind the menu entry in the Overflow menu. This made the feature a bit confusing. Thanks to the new status, users can now quickly access the synced tabs on their Android devices.
Additionally, Firefox 89 Beta brings a small twist to Open Tab Overview, which removes the “Select Tab” button from the bottom. Now, to select a tab, users need to hold down the tab in the overview. Moreover, the update brings some UI changes to the New Tab page. There is a lot of favicon new designs for your favorite websites on the new tab page, and they now show a small icon for pinned websites.
Mozilla has partnered with Web Compat to address rendering issues on selected websites. For this purpose, the update brings a new menu entry that allows you to report pages that are not working properly in the browser due to compatibility issues.
Volunteers from the open-source project can test the report and access the website for a specific amount of time. Sadly, the latest Firefox beta update does not support newer browser extensions. If you want to use non-green extensions on the beta version, you still need to rely on the night version.
