Amazon announced today that it is hiring 75,000 workers for its fulfillment and logistics networks in the United States and Canada to continue to expand its scale and provide services to users.
Amazon said the average starting salary for these jobs is $17 per hour. This reflects Amazon’s recent salary increase, which is raising the hourly wages of its more than 500,000 US operations employees by 50 cents to $3.

In addition, Amazon also said that for these newly recruited workers, as long as they can prove that they have been vaccinated against the new crown pneumonia, they will provide a $100 reward. Amazon did not require its front-line workers to be vaccinated but offered them an $80 bonus to encourage them to be vaccinated.
Obviously, this large-scale recruitment will help Amazon expand its fast-growing warehouse “footprint.” Amazon benefited from the surge in e-commerce triggered by the epidemic and reinvested its profits in physical expansion last year.
