The Mate 40 series phones were the first in line to get the new HarmonyOS update and so is the Mate 40 Pro+. Starting with the first developer beta which was started to roll out in December, the Mate 40 Pro+ has been part of HarmonyOS since the very beginning.
The Mate 40 Pro+ was launched with Android 10 based EMUI 11 and due to the US restrictions, it came with HMS support that uses Huawei AppGallery as its main app store. The HarmonyOS 2.0 upgrade will be its first major upgrade which is already available for Chinese users.
The HarmonyOS 2.0 has already marked its presence for the Mate 40 Pro+ smartphones with the developer beta updates started from December last year. After getting 3 developers’ beta, the smartphone finally got its first public beta on June 02, after the official announcement of HarmonyOS 2.0.
