In December 2020, Xiaomi launched the newest version of the MIUI, MIUI 12.5, at the Mi 11 launch conference in China, and its global version introduced in early February.
MIUI 12.5 comes with the support of Android gesture Turbo which provides an extremely fast response in the system and upgraded its computing power. It also brings system animation design, new light Cone dynamic effect architecture, System sound design, hundreds of global biological sounds, new snow mountain super wallpaper, and more.

Following the launch, the company has started the internal testing program for some of its eligible devices. However, a bunch of eligible devices already received this update.
After releasing the MIUI 12.5 update to a bunch of devices, Xiaomi started rolling out this update to more devices. Now, the company is sending a new update for Mi 8 smartphone in China.
As per the mentioned changelog, the new update brings a new feature for System, powerful tools in the Notes app such as doodling, sketching, press, and hold to adjust the strokes, gesture shortcuts, dynamic layouts for typography, and more.
MIUI 12.5 update for Mi 8 comes with the software version V12.5.1.0.QEACNXM and users will have to download a 2.5GB software package to install the update. Users who are interested can know more about the update through the changelog mentioned below.
