PC accessories manufacturer Yinxin launched an extended SSD dedicated heat sink designed for the Sony PS5 game console TP05, whose size meets the thickness and width requirements of the device.
With the new firmware of PS5 unlocking the M.2 PCIe 4.0 expansion slot, players can now install standard-compliant solid-state drives to expand the storage space for PS5, with maximum support of 4TB.
Moreover, this product consists of two parts, the top is a black aluminum heat sink, which is expected to be processed by CNC, the bottom is a metal shell, surrounded by four screws, and the screw mounting position at the end of the SSD is also reserved for slotting.

Furthermore, the height of the radiator is 5.6mm. The thickness of the thermal pad on the top is 1.75mm, with thermal conductivity of 1.5W/mK. The thermal pad at the bottom is 0.5mm thick and has a thermal conductivity of 1.8W/mK.
This double-sided heat-conducting design can well dissipate the heat of the PCIe 4.0 solid-state drive and ensure the stability of long-term use. Sony’s PS5 requires a sequential read speed of 5500MB/s and above for an extended SSD, and no sequential write speed is required.
According to the actual measurement the read and write performance of the extended SSD significantly exceeds that of the built-in storage in most cases, and the game loading speed is faster.
Currently, Yinxin has not announced the retail price of the TP05 radiator. As the current PS5 dedicated SSD models are very limited and the price is relatively high, this product will help players use the general-purpose PCIe solid-state drive to expand space for PS5 and reduce costs.
