UPDATE 2: May 23 (04:57 ET) – Realme 8 5G May 2022 security update
Realme has started rolling out the latest software update for the Realme 8 5G smartphone users in India, which can be identified via the build number – A.07. The update log for the Realme 8 5G A.15 build reveals that the latest May 2022 Android security patch is included with fixes for some known issues and improved system stability.

Your phone might have detected a new OTA update (via) and might be showing a notification about it! If it isn’t, then simply check for the latest software update by going to your Realme 8 5G’s settings, scrolling down and finding the Software update option. Now, the phone will get a fresh OTA, if it appears on the screen, hit the download button, followed by Install.
To ensure the stability of this update, it will have a phased rollout. The update will be pushed randomly to a limited number of users today and will have a wider rollout in a few days after making sure there are no critical bugs. If no critical bugs are found, the full rollout will be completed in the coming days

Recently, we have witnessed the October 2021 Android security update for Realme 8 4G smartphones. Now the update is being rolled out for its 5G variant, which is Realme 8 5G. Alike the 4G version, this firmware is also released in India.
When we talk about its changelog, it mentions a bunch of bug fixes along with the October security patch. As per the new update log, the update fixes the lag and shutter problems that occur in some cases.

It further fixes the screen flickering issue that might occur when leaving Sleep Capsule and an issue where the Raise to wake feature might occasionally fail to work.

The October 2021 Android security patch for Realme 85G smartphones can be identified via the build version RMX3241_11_A.11.
