TrendForce released a report saying that notebook computer panel shipments in the third quarter of 2021 hit a record high again, reaching 72.27 million units, a quarterly increase of 7.1%.
Moreover, TrendForce said that as the demand for Chromebooks declines, its mainstream 11.6-inch panel shipments have also declined. In the third quarter, it was only 10.88 million units, a 28.3% quarter-on-quarter decrease. It is expected to further decrease in the fourth quarter.

In addition, because the demand for commercial models is still strong, panel makers quickly switched to 14-inch and 15.6-inch panels. The combined shipments of the two sizes in the third quarter reached 46.45 million units, an increase of 20.2% quarter-on-quarter, becoming an overall boost in the third quarter.
