In addition to all these features and improvements, Android 12 has also reduced an important feature that is the video/audio Casting (Cast) uses the phone’s volume keys to control the device’s volume.
Google said it has temporarily disabled the remote volume key playback feature in Android 12 and will re-enable it in Android 12L. As to the initial reason for disabling the feature, Google said it was due to “legal issues”, but it could not say publicly.
We can also say that when users project audio and video to a remote speaker, TV, etc., the Android 12 device will not be able to adjust the current playback volume via its volume keys and will need to adjust it from the speaker and TV.
Google disabled the volume key feature on the system side, so there cannot be other solutions. If you’ve already upgraded to Android 12, you can try it out to see if the manufacturers have made some changes or not.
