Renesas Electronics Group recently announced that it has launched a registered clock driver (RCD) that supports industrial temperature grades DDR5 (5RCD0148H) and DDR4 (4RCD0232K) for requiring edge computing, automotive, industry 4.0, and 5G applications.
Compared with products that usually operate in a temperature range of 0 to 70ºC, the new product can support a temperature range from a minimum of -40ºC to a maximum of 105ºC, and supports DDR5 running at 5200MT/s and DDR4 at 3200MT/s.
Moreover, the new product brings 2 times the channel speed increase and low latency as well as excellent power management and realizes the application of DDR5 industrial temperature grade dual in-line memory module (DIMM) and memory particles connected to the motherboard. The application provides a wider temperature range reliability.

Furthermore, Renesas industrial temperature-level memory interface components can be combined with its supporting clocks, power supplies, and 5G radio frequency and baseband products to create comprehensive solutions for various wireless access and edge computing applications. Renesas’ “Successful Product Portfolio” is a proven complete solution designed to help customers accelerate the design process and shorten the time to market.
Besides, the new Renesas industrial temperature grade DDR5 RCD is optimized to work seamlessly with other Renesas products (including the power management IC P8900, SPD hub SPD5118, and temperature sensor TS5111).
The new industrial temperature grade DDR4 RCD is designed to work with the TSE2004DDR4 temperature sensor. With the use of Memory, suppliers can also obtain complete interoperability and stable quality by adopting Renesas chip solutions. Renesas 5RCD0148H DDR5 and 4RCD0232K DDR4 are available now.
