Tesla installed 250,000 Powerwall energy storage station

According to the latest report, Tesla announced on November 17 that the global installation of Powerwall energy storage power stations has exceeded 250,000. This device uses cylindrical lithium batteries as batteries. It is currently a second-generation product with a capacity of 13.5 kWh. It can be combined with Tesla’s own solar power roof to provide energy storage solutions for families.

Moreover, Powerwall is relatively popular across, Tesla has a backlog of tens of thousands of orders at most, but due to the priority supply of lithium batteries to electric vehicles, the production speed of this energy storage power station has been relatively slow for some time in the past. Starting in 2020, the company has managed to increase product output.

In May 2020, Tesla’s Powerwall installations reached 100,000 globally, and its installations rapidly increased to 250,000 after a year and a half. Tesla reported that it has deployed more than 4GWh of energy storage capacity in the past 12 months.

The official said that the biggest factor limiting its shipments is the production of lithium batteries. It is expected that the sales of Powerwall will continue to rise at a rate of approximately 100,000 units per year in the future.

Furthermore, Tesla Powerwall can be connected to the power grid, and information such as power generation and electricity consumption can be monitored in real-time through the mobile phone App. The peak output power of the product is 7kW, and the continuous use power is 5kW. The user can install up to 10 devices to form an array.
