Apple is selling its latest iPhone 13 smartphones and breaking previous sales records in every region. According to a new report, Apple’s iPhone business grew 25% YoY in the European market last year. In addition, the company has also recorded its highest-ever market share in the region in December 2021.

Apple beats Samsung as a top-selling smartphone vendor in January 2021 and December 2021, according to a new report from Counterpoint Research. Apple started January 2021 with a market-leading 34% share, in February, Samsung’s sales grow by 24%, thanks to the Galaxy S21 launch, it secured the top spot in February 2021. Later in June 2021, Xiaomi reached on number one spot in Europe for the first time, Samsung was in the 2nd spot while Apple was 3rd.
Apple captured a 26% market share in 2021, up from 22% in 2020. At the same time, Samsung recorded 32% of smartphone sales in 2021.
“It is great to see the European smartphone market growing in 2021, but that only tells half the story; COVID-19 impacts resulted in a 14% annual drop in sales in 2020, which means the market is still well-below pre-pandemic levels,” said Jan Stryjak, Associate Director at Counterpoint.
Excluding Samsung and Apple, Chinese smartphone maker Xiaomi saw 50% year-over-year growth. Oppo recorded 94% YoY in 2021, while Realme saw 162% growth. Well, Huawei fall 90% in 2021.
