UPDATE: May 18 (07:11 ET) – May 2022 EMUI Security Update
The global models of Huawei Mate 40 Pro are now receiving a new software update that comes with a May 2022 security patch for the EMUI software system. To your knowledge, Huawei Mate 40 Pro currently uses EMUI 12, upgraded from EMUI 11.0.

EMUI 12 comes with various new features for the Mate 40 Pro smartphone and brings simplicity from its theme to better consumers than the last generation.
On the other hand, the Huawei Mate 40 Pro smartphone in China uses the HarmonyOS 2.0 OS, which is different from the EMUI but looks the same when it comes to the user.
Coming to the topic, the Huawei Mate 40 Pro is also the first smartphone to receive the May 2022 EMUI security update. However, many devices will soon be upgraded as soon as they start rolling out the models.

Huawei Mate 40 Pro is now installing a February 2022 security update for improved data security. And is the first flagship phone to pack EMUI 12 software update.
Earlier, we noted this software update rollout for the consumers and now the company expanding this firmware EMUI 12.0.0.228 for the Huawei Mate 40 Pro users in the global market.
February 2022 update is currently under procedural expansion and will reach your Huawei Mate 40 Pro global variant sooner or later. So, make sure you keep an eye on the update settings of your device.
According to the changelog, the addition of the Control Panel will bring simplicity to your quick action on the taskbar. There’s also an addition of a performance boost to improve multitasking and enhanced security aspects to safe-keep your personal data.
Update Instructions:
- Visit Settings
- Then tap on System & updates
- Tap on Software updates
- Then download and install it
Note: Don’t forget that you will be required to take some pre-update precautions that you save such as backing up your device and waiting while the update installs, which may take some time.
