Apple has restricted the developers from using its Search Advertisement services, in response to growing pressure from all over the world to isolate Russia for the invasion of Ukraine. These Search Ads were earlier used by developers to place Ads on the App Store.
According to the latest Bloomberg report, Apple has sent an email to the developers for the acknowledgment of the ban. Which Said, Apple Search Ads has been suspended on the App Store in Russia until further notice, and no new campaigns are allowed until the suspension is lifted.
We all know that Apple Store was firstly launched in May 2016. This App Store search results with the in-line advertisements placed by developers for promoting alternative apps. Financial Times report says that Apple Search Ads accounted for over 58% of all iPhone application downloads in the year 2021, as compared to merely 17% a year ago, and could bring 20 billion dollars of revenue in the next three years for them.
This Ads ban is a part of s series of restrictions that Apple and other big techs have imposed on Russia in the last few weeks. Ukraine has reportedly urged the tech companies to cut off Russian access to their product and services, which would prevent them from spreading false information about Ukraine.
Last week, Apple stopped all product sales in Russia. Days before it, the company had blocked payments via Russian bank cards on Apple Pay and delisted Russian news apps by RT News and Sputnik from the App Store. Apple has also disabled traffic and lives incidents in Apple Maps in Ukraine for the safety of Ukrainian citizens.

Talking about other companies like Goole and Meta has also banned advertising services in Russia. Earlier this Week, OTT platform Netflix has also suspended all its services from the country. Lately today Apple is going to have its “Peek Performance” event, in which many of new Apple’s new devices and Services will be unpacked.
