In 2019, Google added an assignable reminders feature in the Assistant app, which allows the users to set reminders at the location. Generally, peoples use the Google Voice Assistant to set reminders and a system built-in Assistant known as “Google Reminders.”
Alongside date and time, the users can also add location with the specified tasks in reminders such as “Remind me to buy cold drinks at the super bazaar.” Since its launch, this feature is working very well and made day-to-day tasks easier.

However, Google has rarely updated the Assistant reminders but now it is removing the set reminders at location feature. When you visit the reminder pages navigate the Google app > tap account avatar > Reminder. You will see a blue color box with a message that reads:
Soon you’ll no longer be able to set reminders at locations

Now, Google has recently updated its support page for Assistant reminders and the users have started noticing this change. It’s clear that Google is going away from assignable reminders in Assistant meanwhile the feature is still available on Google Chat and Gmail.
Moreover, the Google Assistant support article suggests Assistant Routines as an alternative to Assistant reminders. So, you can still create reminders at a specific time and set routines for a location.
