OnePlus is rolling out Android 12-based ColorOS 12 beta to OnePlus 7, 7 Pro, OnePlus 7T, 7T Pro, and OnePlus 9RT users in China. Interested users can now register for the program to test new software for bugs before it’s rolled out to the public.

Since this public beta version is still in the development stage, there are some potential risks in system stability and poor experience. According to the updated plans posted on the Oppo China website, users of OnePlus 7, 7 Pro, 7T, 7T Pro, and 9RT smartphones will take part in ColorOS 12 beta testing. There is no information on when the global variant will get OxygenOS 12, which is based on ColorOS, the beta version.
As far as the stable release is concerned, OnePlus hasn’t shared a timeline yet. But it should be out within two months. Android 12 is the third major software update for the Oneplus 7 series, the second major system update for the Oneplus 7T series, and the first Android update for the Oneplus 9RT.
