Facebook introduced new tool that will allow users to export texts posts, including notes
Facebook has introduced a new tool that will allow users to export posts of texts, including notes. Users will be able to transfer their data directly to Google Drive, Blogger, and WordPress. The feature is spread worldwide and is part of the social network’s efforts to give users better control over their data.
The new Facebook tool has come after making it easier for users to transfer their photos and videos to Google Photos through social networking.
“We have designed this tool with privacy, security, and usability in mind. Before the transfer begins, we will ask you to re-enter your password and encrypt your data as you move between services, so that you can be confident that it will be transferred securely, “Facebook said in a blog post.
Facebook users can transfer their text posts by going to Settings in “Your Facebook Information” and clicking “Transfer Your Information”. The prompts will take a series of steps to help you move your data securely.
Facebook said it plans to continue expanding its data types and partners in the future.
“Nevertheless, we are building an ecosystem to support data portability. Without regulation it would not be clear what data should be made portable and who is responsible after data transfer,” Facebook said.
With Facebook’s decision not to warn more than 500 million people whose information could be part of a data breach, it may be time to step down from the platform. With the latest tools, getting your data across some other service or offline has never been easier.
Speaking of keeping your information safe and secure, the social network recently expanded support for two-factor authentication security keys on mobile devices. Mobile security keys are one of the best ways to keep your account secure, and it’s a good idea whether you’re a member of a social media or service.
