AMD has finally given some performance previews for its elusive FidelityFX super-resolution technology – which was originally announced a year ago – and is set to boost serious performance in the process.
AMD’s answer to Deep Learning Super Sampling or simply the magic of DLSS is FidelityFX Super Resolution, or for short. Nvidia’s version uses AI to boost your game to a higher resolution without losing much performance, but with AMD’s version “you do not need machine learning to do this.”

FidelityFX is seeing a lot more bars, with DLSS offering performance improvements of up to 118% in some cases.
From what we have seen so far, FidelityFX offers four different high-end modes, its ultra-quality mode giving you another option similar to the one available with DLSS. When this mode was enabled, AMD’s GodFall demo maintained 78fps above the local 49fps.
It boosted performance by almost 59% for the demo rig’s Radeon RX 6800 XT at 4K, set to graphics epic and retrospective. Not bad, but it’s scratching the surface.
