Gmail brings useful navigation rail for foldable devices
Gmail is getting a new update with useful UI tweaks and a navigation rail, especially for foldable devices. The manufacturer has already introduced this capability in May, though it remained under the hood for a long time. For the first time, the company is rolling out this feature.
Consequently, Gmail is bringing an effective navigation rail outlook for the foldable. Here, users will see a new sidebar in the application, showing the “Compose” tab at the side of the UI slate, compared to the earlier view where it was placed in a floating action button.
Besides, the bottom section in the app now appears on the side hand with shortcuts for inbox, chat, and meet. Recently, Google Pixel Fold has gained this update with the 2023.06.11.542368486 version. Though there aren’t any changes for the Pixel Tablet.

It looks like the new changes are confined only to folding phones at this moment. Although the tech giant will release more such enhancements for other devices as well.
