Good Lock Home Up update comes with new layout types and added features

A few months ago, when Samsung updated Good Lock for Android 11, Home Up and Task Changer were merged, and the latter lost several styles in the process. Today, Samsung updated the module again, restored many old themes, and added some useful new features.

If you look at the bottom left corner of the overview screen, you will see a small button with a 3×3 grid. Tap this button to push the currently open application to a split-screen state and display a list of compatible applications to be opened at the same time. If you think this is familiar, it should be-Android 10’s Good Lock provides this function, but it did not jump to 11. This is a useful tool and users might be happy to see it return.

When Task Changer is combined with Home Up, only three of the six layout options survive the transition: List, Grid, and Stack. Now vertical lists and slim lists have been added, so the carousel is the only one missing. But since that is one of the most popular versions, I don’t think it will come back.

If you are using one of the three list layouts, you can enable “Circular List”, which will change the scroll animation when you are in an overview state. They rotate around the right side of the screen, instead of scrolling up or down in a straight line from your most recent application. It’s subtle, but it looks great on a 120Hz display.

Finally, it seems that we will get a brand new module soon. Good Lock’s changelog says that it is “ready for the new application Routine+”. All we have to do is the name, but I think we can definitely link it to Bixby Routines.

In addition to pointing to the name of the connection, it should also be noted that Bixby Routines was first started as a Good Lock module. It remains to be seen whether this module aims to enhance our existing functions or completely replace them.
