Google Chrome is getting new ‘Allow this time’ option for permissions
Google is working on a temporary but interesting “Allow this time” option for the Chrome application. This new choice will mainly target permission for geolocation, camera, or microphone access when prompted by a specific website on the browser.
The latest “Allow this time” option for Google Chrome is spotted in the 116 desktop version. Note that the company has already implemented this unique capability in the Android app. Though it’s time for the web app build to grab this feature.
According to the information, Google is gradually pushing out another pick that grants only one-time permission for the current ongoing interaction with a web application:
- Allow this time: Temporary allow.
- Allow on every visit: Persistent allow.
- Don’t allow: Persistent block.
- Clicking the x button: Temporary block
The US tech giant is currently releasing this feature on desktops (Mac, Windows, Linux, and ChromeOS), but the official blog reads that the mobile web experience may change in the future.
