Google Contacts readying a single-contact widget for more subtle look

Posted on

Google is working on a single-contact widget feature for the Contacts app which will soon start showing up on your Android devices. The latest tweak has started emerging on the beta builds but it will take some time to make its way to general consumers.

Spotted by a Twitter handle @AssembleDebug, Google Contacts is now getting a new single-contact widget. As the name reflects, it will create a shortcut for a particular contact on the home screen. Meanwhile, users will be able to resize it accordingly.

In terms of appearance, the single-contact widget has a circular frame for the profile pictures with call and text tabs offset on the top and bottom. You can adjust these tweaks based on the size of the widget. For instance, a small widget will only highlight a profile pic with buttons to the right.

Whereas, you would be able to see the contact name on the bigger widget. It further fetches Material You design and flashes a subtle look on the home screen. These changes are currently up with the app version – 4.15.24.554449442 and will soon reach your handset.
