To those who are unaware of the term, Alt-text is generally a short narration of an image. This narration appears when the image is not capable of being loaded. Further, these texts can be read aloud by the screen readers. Thus users will be able to know what the attachment contains and is about while receiving an email on the app.

Google Meet & More…

Google has started to roll out the image alt-text feature for Gmail in new updates. On the other hand, the company has also implemented some new add-ons to Google Meet. The new feature in the Meet app is known as Multi-Pin which allows the users to pin multiple videos on their screen. Further, the company is also working on audio descriptions that verbally spell out what is visible on the screen.

Ultimately, Google is also extending the Euphonia project to include four other languages. For instance, French, Japanese, Hindi, and Spanish.
