Google is working on a new At a Glance widget for non-Pixel devices. Yes, we do have the functionality for other Android handsets. However, it is not so advanced, compared to the latest one on Pixel phones. But it looks like the US tech giant will soon bring effective changes on board.
According to the information, the new Google At a Glance widget for non-Pixel devices is slightly different from the old versions, and the one that resides in the Pixel handsets. Eventually, the date and upcoming calendar events with other prominent notifications will appear in a pill-shaped tab.
Meanwhile, the weather will show up in a Material You-styled gear-like structure. That’s not it. The app developer @AssembleDebug showcased these changes on the actual home screen and illustrated how the widget will let users select three varied styles – solid, transparent, and outline.

You can pick the preferred one from the three-dot menu between the calendar and the weather. On the other hand, the respective widget alters with colors based on the background, just like other Material You widgets.

Unlike the Pixel version, At a Glance widget for other devices is not detailed. But it is still better than the previous build. Let’s see when Google will bring this change to its consumers.
