According to the latest information, Google has started rolling out the iMessage reaction feature to its own messages service, Google Messages. The shared screenshot (via 9to5Google) shows that the reactions sent by iPhone were correctly visible by Google Messages just like reactions send through RCS.

However, in the message history, there’s no fallback message appeared, thus keeping it tidy. When you click on a response to a message, Google Messages will show the message that “Translated from iPhone“.

We can see that if iPhone users change their iMessage reaction that they have reacted to a message, Google Messages will correctly replace the emoji displayed as the screenshot clearly shows that instead of a love reaction, there is a big laughter emoji.

Google has actually remapped some of the iMessage reactions to match the content provided via RCS, as it has replaced the love response of iMessage with Google Messages’ heart-eye emoji, while the laughing response is replaced with a smiley emoji.

Although, this is an initial rollout and the company may soon release this feature to all Android users via Google messages.
