Back in March 2019, Google Photos introduced the Daily limit feature for Indian users and other Next Billion User (NBU) countries. It aims to provide users with fine control over the daily cellular data usage for backup. Now, if we are inspecting today, this feature is widely available on US and European devices.

Recently, as per information (9to5Google), the latest update to Google Photos has quietly dismissed the special video backup setting and added the daily limit feature instead. For a long time, Google Photos let users control whether videos can be uploaded automatically via a cellular network.
Users can check the feature of the daily limit by following the steps mentioned below.
- Open Google Photos.
- Then tap on its settings.
- Click on Back up & sync.
- Here you find the Cell data usage option, head on it.
- Then, you can set a daily limit for backup from the five options including No data, 5MB, 10MB, 30MB, and Unlimited.
However, there’s another option that is Back up while roaming, you can enable it by tapping on the toggle.
Although users are giving preference to the “Use celluar data to back up the videos” instead of the daily limit because an increase of 5MB to 30 MB is not ideal or practical for users around the world as individual image sizes can easily reach the lower limit, and most videos are larger than the upper limit.
For a number of reasons, Google Photos’ daily limit feature international release is awkward, and it might happen unexpectedly. It replaces the task of determining whether videos can be backed up over a cellular network, which is not available in the NBU version of Google Photos.
