Google now making Tasks in sidebar of Gmail, Calendar, and other Workspace apps more streamlined

Posted on

Earlier, Google Task receives its last major update in October which was officially integrated with Calendar for Android and iOS. Google is now making Tasks in the sidebar of Gmail, Calendar, and other Workspace apps more streamlined.

This small tweak means you can add descriptions, assign dates and times without opening the “Details” dialog box. Following a tape or a composition on a task, the “Details” field appears inline under the heading and above the date/time. Google hopes that this change will make it easier to organize your tasks.

Google Task is available now in the sidebar of Gmail, Drive, Docs, and Calendar. This is because this revision of the service does not have a dedicated desktop website or application.

Meanwhile, the Calendar integration on mobile reduces the need for a dedicated client to some extent, although it is the only place that gives you a direct list view.

In the meantime, the functions are closely aligned with the new Gmail and Room in the new channel. The messaging service allows activity members to assign team members as a collaboration tool.
