Instagram, one of the most popular social media platforms, continues to enhance user experience with innovative features. In response to the growing demand for immersive and engaging interactions, Instagram is testing a new feature that will elevate your story-sharing experience.
According to Instagram head Adam Mosseri, the social media app is testing a new option that allows users to share their Stories with multiple audience lists. Instagram already gives you the ‘Close Friends’ option, using which you can add a bunch of friends to a list and share Stories with them.
This feature will be great for those who have public profiles such as social media influencers, offering them more options for sharing and targeting their audience properly. There are instances when you would want to share something with people outside of your close group of friends.
This is where the new story-sharing feature, to create multiple audience lists on Instagram will come in handy. If your close group of friends doesn’t fit the description of the Stories you wish to share, then you can create a new group, add a bunch of people, and share the Stories with them.

Mosseri said,
- “This allows you to share stories with smaller groups and gives you more control over who can see your stories.”
- As per the screenshots shared by Instagram, you can create a small group for your siblings, for people who love food and different characteristics, and share Stories based on their likings.
